CONTEXT
We spend so much time in our heads.
We might as well make it a nice place to live.
Here are 3 of the best tips to do that:
THE 3 TIPS
Tip #1: Start a note in your phone. Title it “the little things.”
Add 1 new thing every night that brought you joy:
- an out-of-the-blue text,
- a great podcast,
- a sip of coffee,
- a walk outside.
Gratitude doesn’t require life-changing events.
—
Tip #2: Do an “audit” of the accounts you follow on social media.
- Whenever you see a post that doesn’t make you feel better or inspired, simply unfollow.
Your “diet” isn’t just what you eat. It’s what you read, watch, and listen to. Feed your brain healthy things.
—
Tip #3: Start every morning with one of the “3 C’s” (a nod to Jesse Itzler)
Text 1 person in your life a:
- Compliment
- Congratulations
- Or Consolation
That’s it. Just think of 1 person who deserves 1 of those things and hit “send.”
CLOSING THOUGHTS
The secret to happiness isn’t having everything you want. It’s wanting everything you already have.

P.S. If you’re near the Philippines, there’s still time to get your ticket and come see my TEDx Talk live! I’m the opening speaker on Friday, November 15th at 1:00pm in Manila. And I’m going to share the most vulnerable story I’ve ever told publicly. See you there?
